FUJI SHIBAZAKURA FESTIVAL

Around 500,000 shiba-zakura bloom in the vast lands at the foot of Mount Fuji, the greatest number in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area.

The beautiful contrast of vivid colors that decorate Mount Fuji is a typical sight during the springtime.

Enjoy the view of Mount Fuji and the vast panorama of pink.

Flowers Decorating the Venue

McDaniel cushion

McDaniel cushion, a large-flowered pink moss phlox with a striking presence, which is a horticultural variety that is representative of white moss phlox. It is native to North America and is characterized by its strong resistance to cold.
Mont-Blanc

A variety that represents white moss phlox. Since the leaf color is yellow-green, it is easy to distinguish from other varieties and gives a bright impression even in the season without flowers.
Autumn Rose

Its color is rose pink and it is generally called "pink shibazakura". Its view is filled with elegant and feminine gentleness, reminiscent of graceful peach-colored clouds.
Tamano-nagare

It has a white border around its petals and the pink stripes create a spotted pattern on the petals. From a distance, it looks like a group of pinkish-purple flowers.
Oakington Blue-eye

Its name comes from the soft purple of the orchid, and its color is a pale reddish-purple, inviting us to a sweet world. It has a strong blue face in the center of the flower, making us feel its purity.
Giant Rose

It produces a large, prominent pink flower.Compared to the McDaniels cushion, its petals are thinner, and it has a long blooming period. It is a rare variety that is not often seen in the market.
Scarlet Flame

When people talk about red moss phlox, they often refer to this flower. "Scarlet" means bright red, and it is a popular gardening variety. It is filled with mystery and fantasy.

Shiba-Zakura

Shiba-zakura (Phlox subulata) are a perennial species of phlox belonging to the Polemoniaceae family. From April to May, they can bloom small flowers with a diameter of around 1.5cm in colors that include red, peach, white, and purple.In North America, its place of origin, it is referred to as moss phlox.It is said to have gotten its Japanese name from its similarity in flower shape to the cherry blossom, and in strong creeping and ground-covering properties to grass.

RAINBOW FLOWER FESTIVAL

An event that we at Fuji Motosuko Resort, organizers of the annual Mount Fuji Shiba-Zakura Festival, hold for you to enjoy Mount Fuji alongside flowers in the summertime. From the yellow, red, pink, and orange zinnias to the contrast of Rudbeckias’ golden yellow petals and green pistils—fifteen types of flowers fill the foot of Mount Fuji with color.
